About
This website was created to allow the efficient "reverse-searching" of articulations in the California higher education system. Simply enter a course and a list of equivalent courses at other institutions will be returned.
While it is trivial to check if one specific course at a college will transfer to another at a different college (by searching on assist.com), there is no easy way to find a list of courses at other institutions which are considered equivalent to one specific course. This site allows such functionality. Such a list would be desired, for example, if one wanted to fulfill their degree requirements somewhere other than their primary institution. Most community college courses offer a large amount of their courses available "online". The advantages of this are as follows:
- A faster path to graduation by being able to take more courses (including during summer), bypass pre-requisites, and fulfill lower division requirements quickly
- Community college courses are significantly cheaper
- Courses taken at other institutions do not affect GPA at primary college
- Higher course availability
- Asynchronous community college courses are often a joke
Limitations
Articulations primarily describe equivalencies between 2-year and 4-year institutions for the purpose of transfer. As such, equivalencies between different 2-year institutions are not well documented. One can check if courses are equivalent between community colleges and between CSUs by checking their c-id. Furthermore, while the Assist website may describe describe courses which full General Education category requirements, this site does not.
